Group heath Insurance | heath Insurance | medical Insurance | Obama Care | Dallas Tx

Take Care of Your Employees…..

Group insurance is a health care coverage plan in which individual employees or members are included under one ‘master policy’ owned by their employers. Because the group insurance plan has so many contributors, the policy often provides coverage for more services at a much lower cost per participant. Group insurance may be provided by other organizations besides for-profit companies. Labor unions, churches and other service groups can also obtain group insurance for recognized members and possibly their dependents.

Three main types of group health insurance plans and a number of other plans with smaller following are on the market. These plans include the health maintenance organization (HMO), preferred provider option (PPO) and point of service plans (POS). Each has some advantages and disadvantages, many of which come down to a personal preference.

Individual members of a group insurance plan receive insurance certificates which demonstrate their eligibility for benefits. If the master policy held by the employer requires participation in a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), then individuals are also registered as members. Other group insurance policies may be associated with major medical groups such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield. A major medical policy may or may not restrict an individual’s choice of primary physician and specialists. HMO policies often require a patient to use a specified physician, who must approve any visits to eligible specialists.

PPO group health insurance plans have network restrictions, but also allow the patient to go outside the network. In such cases, the patient usually pays a higher rate than he would normally pay if services were provided inside the network. Also, PPO plans usually do not require designating a primary care physician or receiving a referral before seeing a specialist.

Point of Service plans try to provide a middle ground between the HMO and PPO. The overall goal is to keep the patient in the network by providing incentives. These incentives may be better benefits or convenience. Often, people seeking service out of the network will have to submit their own paperwork and may even have to pay up front for the services and get reimbursed by the insurance company.

So, what plan should you chose? Overall, any health plan is generally considered better than not having one at all. Can you afford to pay out-of-pocket for a hospital visit? Call Choice Plus Benefits today.

Insured Through United Healthcare

About Medicare

Medicare is a federal government program that provides health insurance coverage to eligible beneficiaries. You’re eligible to join Medicare if you are:

A United States citizen or legal resident who has lived in the U.S. for at least five consecutive years, AND

Age 65 or older, OR

Under age 65 and qualify on the basis of disability or other special situation, OR

Any age, but have end-stage renal disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or kidney transplant).

Who administers Medicare plans?

Medicare Parts A and B (sometimes known as “Original Medicare”) is run by the federal government. With Medicare Parts A and B, the government pays fees for your health care directly to the doctors and hospitals you visit.

Other types of Medicare plans, such as Medicare Part C (also known as Medicare Advantage), Medicare Supplement Insurance and prescription drug plans (Part D), are operated by private insurance companies that are contracted by the government. The government pays a fixed fee to your plan for your care, and your plan then pays your doctors and hospitals.

What are my Medicare coverage choices?

You can choose the type of Medicare plan you want, based on what’s available in your area and your coverage needs. Here’s an overview of what each coverage plan offers:

Medicare Part A and Part B (sometimes known as “Original Medicare”)

Helps cover hospital stays, preventive care, doctor visits and other medical services.

Run by the federal government.

Can be paired with a Medicare Supplement Insurance plan to help pay your share of costs.

Can be paired with a stand-alone prescription drug plan (Medicare Part D), to help pay for medications.

Medicare Part C – Medicare Advantage Plans

Medicare Advantage Plans provide the same benefits as Original Medicare, plus additional AARP Medicare Supplemental Insurance benefits, which can include routine hearing, vision and dental care. They cover all the benefits of Medicare Part A, including hospital stays, skilled nursing care and home health care, but not hospice care (which is still covered by your Part A benefit). These plans also cover all the benefits of Medicare Part B, including doctor visits, outpatient care, screenings, shots and lab tests. Many plans also include Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage. These plans work similarly to employer-sponsored health insurance plans that you may have had or currently have, which may help you continue a similar level of coverage to what you have now.

The AARP® MedicareComplete® plans are insured through UnitedHealthcare. All plans include urgent care and worldwide emergency coverage and a 24-hour nurse hotline, and most include prescription coverage. Most plans have no additional monthly premium beyond what you already pay for Part B.

Medicare Part D (prescription drug plans)

Helps cover the costs of your prescription drugs.

Run by private insurance companies that are contracted by the government.

Can be added to Medicare Parts A and Bora Medicare Advantage Private Fee-for-Service (PFFS) plan that does not include prescription drug coverage.

Medicare Supplement Insurance

Helps pay your cost of Medicare-covered services, such as copays and deductibles.

Some plans offer additional benefits not covered by Medicare Parts A and B.

Run by private insurance companies. These plans are regulated by the state in which you reside, and are not a benefit offered by the federal government.

Can be added to Medicare Parts A and B.

How much does Medicare Supplement Insurance cost?

Insurance companies may charge different premiums for exactly the same Medicare Supplement coverage. As you shop for a Medicare Supplement policy, be sure you are comparing the same Medicare Supplement policy (for example, compare Plan A from one company with Plan A from another company.)

Supplement plans offered by AARP are: A, B, C Select C, F, Select F, K, L and N.

In fact, it has been found that one in every four Texas residents don’t have a health insurance plan. It’s important that you take all of the necessary steps to ensure that your loved ones are healthy. To the relief of many, the health care reforms introduced by President Obama will provide a plethora of benefits to the uninsured in Texas. Due to the amendments made to Federal law (January 2014), insurance companies are no longer able to deny health coverage, or charge you more based on the condition of your health. This law became effective in January 2014.

Choice Plus Benefits aims to provide people with affordable health insurance policies in Texas. Established in the year 1997, our company strives to help you explore the innumerable options that are available to you when it comes to health insurance.

Types of Health Insurance Plans

Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum are the four main types of health insurance plans that are available under the Healthcare Affordability Act. These are also known as “Metal Plans”, and they represent the four tiers of coverage. Apart from these four basic types of plans, people who have not yet turned 30 and that qualify for hardship exemptions may opt for a “catastrophic” health plan. These plans have low premiums but high out-of-pocket costs.

People also have the choice of opting for private health plans under ObamaCare, plans that are offered through a broker or healthcare provider. One can also qualify for government-based insurance plans like Medicare or Medicaid.

Choice Plus Benefits makes it easier for you to get health insurance. Prescription coverage, outpatient coverage, full accident coverage and family coverage are some of the benefits that are provided under our health insurance plans. Our dedicated insurance agents will assist you through the selection process.

The Importance of Health Insurance Policies

Health insurance policies will offer you a lot of financial benefits, especially if anyone in the family suffers from a serious illness. It also provides you peace of mind. People who opt for health insurance policies can afford the type of treatment that’s required in case a serious illness strikes.

Prior to choosing a health insurance policy, be sure that you understand that insurance coverage requirements may not be the same for everyone. Every individual has his/her own medical needs, which are different from others. This is the reason why it is important to choose an insurance policy that will appropriately meet your medical condition. It is also necessary to consider the amount of premiums that you will need to pay and the benefits that the insurance plan will offer.

So, you just turned 65? Then why not celebrate your 65th birthday by gifting yourself a Medicare supplemental insurance plan? Life is unpredictable, and it’s always a good decision to take appropriate steps to secure your future.

At Choice Plus Benefits, we can assist you in opting for the right Medicare supplemental insurance in Dallas. Find the best insurance and investment solutions that meet your specific needs and requirements. Your health insurance plan may not cover all of the medical expenses that you will incur. This is where a Medicare supplement insurance policy can help you out. It will give you peace of mind because you will be insured for those unexpected events.

How does Medigap help you?

Medigap policies will help you cover those extra costs that you may need to incur in the case that certain medical bills aren’t covered under your insurance policy. There are many supplemental health insurance policies available on the market. However, the most popular of them include accident, critical illness, vision and dental insurance. Some Medicare policies offer coverage for services that your original Medicare policy may not cover. For example, you may be insured for medical care if you fall ill when travelling outside of the U.S.A.
It has been estimated that a couple requires about $250,000 for medical expenses. If you opt for a Medigap policy, then you will have to pay a monthly premium which varies according to the benefits that you avail and the place where you live.

Things to Know before applying for Medigap

Here are some of the things that you should remember before applying for Medicare supplement insurance.
In order to be eligible for a Medigap policy, you must already be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B. All of the Medigap policies will be labeled as “Medicare Supplemental Insurance”, and the plans should follow all of the Federal and state regulations related to Medigap policies.

If you have a Medicare Advantage Plan, then you can apply for a Medigap policy, provided that you leave the Medicare Advantage Plan before the Medigap policy becomes functional. For this, you will need to pay a monthly premium to the private insurance company for the Medigap policy that you enroll in. This premium should be paid in addition to the monthly premium that you pay for your Part B Medicare Insurance.
Another important factor that you should remember is that Medicare Supplement Insurance covers only one person. Therefore, you will need separate policies for both you and your spouse.

In case you are planning to opt for Medicare Supplemental Insurance, contact Choice Plus Benefits . We will provide you complete information about the Medigap Supplement Plans that are offered.

What is Medigap Insurance?

Medicare pays only 80% of your approved charges for Part B plan. How are you supposed to cover the rest of 20% of the expenses? This is where Medigap Insurance comes in. Also known as “Medicare Supplement Insurance”, its goal is to help you fill the gaps in your original Medicare plan. However, an important thing that you should remember is that it does not cover your drugs, dental or vision care and other long- term medical care. Medigap plan premiums will differ depending on the type of plan that you choose.

The best part about Medicare Supplement Insurance is that all of the policies are renewable. If you keep paying your insurance premiums, then the insurance company cannot drop you regardless of where you live. However, there is a lot of misinformation floating around the about Medigap insurance plans. Read on to learn some of the common myths about this insurance policy.

Changing the plan:

One of the common myths is that Medicare supplement insurance can only be switched during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP). The truth is that you can switch plans at any time. The AEP is applicable for people who have opted for the Medicare Advantage Plan or for the Part D Prescription Drug Plan.
Price:
Most people think that the prices of Medigap Insurance plans are all the same. However, the truth is that these prices can vary for the same plan and with different insurance companies. The benefits may be identical, but the price is not. In addition to this, there are 11 different Medigap Plans that have varying degrees of benefits.
Coverage is not as good as compared to what employer group plans offer This is not true. Medicare, along with a Medigap plan, can provide you with excellent health coverage.
Are you well-prepared for your future? If you are 65 years or older, then you are automatically eligible for Medicare. However, your Medicare insurance may not cover all of your medical expenses. This is where Medicare supplement insurance can help.

With Texas becoming a preferred destination for retirement, there has been an increase in demand for Medicare supplement insurance in Texas. At Choice Plus Benefits, we help you in finding the best Medicare supplement insurance plans in Dallas that will help in you fill in the gaps of your Medicare insurance plans.

Medicare Advantage vs. Medicare Supplement plans

Medicare supplement plans have been designed to cover the healthcare expenses that are not covered by Original Medicare. It acts as a supplement to Part A and Part B of the original plan. Except Massachusetts, Minnesota and Wisconsin, there are ten standardized Medigap plans available in most states.

A Medicare Advantage plan provides hospital and medical coverage offered by Part A and Part B of your original Medicare. These plans come with additional benefits like dental coverage, prescription drug coverage and health and wellness programs.

Choosing the right Medicare plan

One of the common questions that people have is which Medicare plan will be right for them. Medicare beneficiaries are often unsure if they should choose the Medicare Advantage (MA) Plan or the Medicare Supplement (Medigap) Plan.

Private insurance policies are available to individuals who are already enrolled in Original Medicare (Part A and Part B). However, each of these plans comes with different coverage, costs and benefits. This is why it is essential to fully understand the ins and outs of these different insurance policies before you make your choice.

Deciding between a Medicare Advantage Plan and a supplement plan depends on your specific needs and circumstances. For instance, the total cost of your drug coverage depends on the medications you may need and the plans that you are enrolled. In some cases, a Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plan may be a better option as compared to the stand-alone Part D plan of Medigap insurance.

While comparing the plans, ensure that you consider the cost of monthly premiums, co-pays, deductibles, coverage, benefits, healthcare facility restrictions and the prescription drug coverage costs.

Health care is expensive, especially if you are not prepared financially. Good health insurance coverage not only ensures that you will get the treatment you need should you fall ill, but it protects you from the burden of unexpected medical expenses.

The introduction of the Affordable Care Act, also known as “Obamacare”, was designed to help Americans to get health insurance irrespective of their income or existing health problems.

Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO), Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO) and Traditional fee-for-service health insurance plans are the three categories under which your health insurance choices fall:

Traditional fee-for-service is usually the most expensive choice; however, an advantage for this plan is that it offers you the most flexibility when choosing your healthcare providers. This flexibility can be critical depending on the health issue for which you need treatment.

Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) covers the costs of preventive care and generally has lower co-payments than the other plans. However, under this plan, your choices of health care providers covered by the plan are pre-determined.

Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO) offers lower co-payments like the HMO plan, but provides you with some flexibility when you need to select a healthcare provider. PPO plans come with a list of healthcare providers that are covered and allow you to chose from the list.
